I just spent the past hours renaming the dll, reopening twenty different projects, reloading Battery 3 in each, reloading the drum kit, reassigning the hundreds of midi tracks to Battery 3, reassigning the Battery 3 outputs to my drum groups, all for the second time in three days! Cubase only crashed two time while attempting to load into VST Instruments Battery 3. If I am not lucky I get the perpetual hourglass. It seems to be looking for something (proper licensing?) and it gets lost sometimes. When the DAW (Cubase 4) is loading a project file that has Battery 3 already in it I have noticed that when the load VST instrument part occurs (trying to load Battery 3), the hard drive stops (task manager indicates Cubase is not responding), a distinctive click sound is made by the hard drive.nothing happens for about eight seconds.another click sound from the drive.nothing happens for another fifteeen seconds and if I am lucky TM tells me Cubase is back responding the file will finish loading. Also, why does a project not load and then the exact file will load later! I thought computers are either/or vs. If the space in the name is the issue, why does Battery 3.dll (with space) occasionally load properly. I got the error message that the plug-in couldn't be found so I named it back to Battery 3.dll. When I began encountering this problem this was the first place I looked. It is not what one would expect from who ever is at fault here. I am a really pissed-off person attempting to use Battery 3 with Cubase. This may or may not be true: If Battery 3 is NOT the first VST Instrument plug-in in the VST Instrument list IT might actually load. I have become extremely frustrated not to mention irritated by the whole affair.
#CUBASE 4 PROBLEMS INSTALL#
The "Setup" manual states that the dll file should be VST.dll (I assume this means Batter圓VST.dll) yet the only file installed (even thought when I installed Battery 3 I picked install VST only from the options) is Battery 3.dll (with a space between Battery and 3). I have spent days trying to figure out the issue to no avail. I can save the C4 file (if I can actually load Battery 3 to the VST Instruments) and when I attempt to reload the project, when C4 is loading the file it hangs up when it hit the load VST instruments (namely Battery 3). Either C4 freezes when I attempt to add Battery as a VST Instruments.or after I (if I am able to)successfully add Battery 3 to the VST Instruments, the problems do not go away. I have had nothing but problems with Battery 3 functioning correctly with Cubase 4.
